Lombardy, the 11 year old cat who went missing on December 23, came home on his own!
Jack has come home!

Turbo
has come home! He is doing great and the cats are thrilled to have him home.

I just wanted to let you know that the cat we found on October 6, 2005 in Middletown at the High School has found a permanent home with us. He has turned out to be a very loving cat and is starting to fit in with his other feline brother and sisters.

We got all his shots and neutering done back in November 2005 at Pets 4 Pets request. This was in hopes of being able to adopt him out faster. But since no one has claimed him or he wasn't placed we decided to keep him. His name is Tuxie or Mannie. Thanks for posting him in the lost section.

I had sent an email on Wednesday to post my lost dog - male beagle from Lake Linganore area. Well, we found him last night so you can take it down. He really seemed no worse for the wear as he was only gone two days. We have decided to name him Boomerang. Thanks for your help.
Dopey the cat has been found. A big thank you to all those who helped to bring him home.

Hello, This is the happiest e-mail I have ever written. Cocoa, the min pin missing in Keedysville May 19th was found. She had lost a bit of weight, but these great Sharpsburg people found her in the garage and cornered her until she could be picked up. She was so happy to see her Mom and Dad-Deb and Gary Bostic, that she has not come down off her cloud!! Her father Tiny, went crazy when they brought her home. He is still cleaning and kissing her. Cocoa was a house pet that had no experience in the wild and she survived 57 days in the woods around Antietum Battlefields. DO NOT give up hope if your pet is missing....We never did. Thank you all who kept an eye out for her. We are very grateful.

Jake the mini-pinscher returned home after 5 days with 5 fractures and a missing canine. His owner believes Jake was kicked/trampled by the horses on the farm nearby. The owrners friends were giving him a party at his house, trying to take his mind off Jake being gone and that's when Jake came home -- must be a party dog!

Joey the black cat lost in Middletown returned on his own after two weeks.

Zotty the husky mix was found at the FC animal shelter about five days after she went missing.

Pebbles the Yorkie was returned after three days by a neighbor.

After almost four weeks, we found Dixie--our eight year old Boston Terrier. She never ventured very far from where she was last sighted. The owner of the farm called us yesterday, but by the time we got there, she was gone again. I was so heartbroken. But at least now we knew she was alive. So we went back last night, this morning, and tonight and finally found her. She's very weak--weighs only about 10 pounds but she's at the vets getting all checked out for the next 24 hours and she should be fine. Thanks to everyone!

Ebony is home! About 11 pm Tuesday, I heard a cat outside, so I went out on the porch to look. When I opened the door, he got scared and ran but I saw enough to know it was a black cat. So I sat on the porch steps and just talked. I used his name a lot, and after a few minutes he came out. I kept talking, and he eventually came up to me. I picked him up and brought him inside. He's lost a bit of weight, but otherwise looks good. His brother wasn't too sure about him at first and wouldn't go near him (I'm sure he smelled different) but he's getting better, and I'm sure things will be back to normal soon. Thank you so much for posting his picture and ad. I didn't need it this time, but I might have, and it's wonderful to know this service is available.

Yoshi: returned home after 3 days and has been lost and found at least once more since then. Owner says he is a frequent flyer at the Montgomery County shelter.
Maverick -- returned home after 3 days and had apparently been caught in a fox trap. Injury is recovered now and he is fine.
Jackson from Urbana returned home after 30 hours and will not say where he was. He is doing fine.

Bonnie is home! She was gone for 10 long, sleepless days! I hope the story of how we finally got her back will help those who are looking for their loved ones. Don't give up...that's one thing people kept telling me and I never did! Bonnie came home around 1am Tuesday morning. We had a cat trap out and caught a stray on Monday morning. One of the things people said were that if there were strays coming around it can keep Bonnie from coming home. So we put up a trap again tonight along with a baby monitor out near the trap. Another story we heard of and thought we'd give it a try. We heard some rustling on the baby monitor, so I went out and went to look in the trap and saw a tail in the bushes. I shined the flashlight and saw a cat the color of Bonnie. I quickly realized it was her. I tried to coax her from behind the bushes, but she took off. Luckily the snow allowed us to follow where she went and we surrounded her in another bush. We reached in and grabbed her, and ran into the house. So...she is safe and home!! She seems fine...a little thin and a little smelly, but other than that she seems happy to be home. We tried to follow the kitty prints in the snow to see where she was hiding out. It looks like she was a few blocks away. So, thank you all for your help, thoughts and prayers!

Molly Came Home!

Molly came home last night!! I've been checking every night and morning. Last night, my husband went outside to take out the garbage, and heard a loud "Meow!!" -- and there she was. She looked in pretty good shape, too, so she must have found a spot that kept her warm and maybe found some food too. Thanks for all your help and thoughts...and now there is one more happy ending for the web site :-)

Trouble originally went missing from the home of his owner's daughter on Kelly Road in Mt. Pleasant. He was found after 51 weeks and 3 days. The owner's grandson was driving down Dance Hall Road and saw him in someone's yard. He stopped and told them that Trouble was his grandmother's missing dog. Trouble was still wearing his original collar and rabies tag. The people said they had found him shortly after he went missing and tried to find the owner but had no luck. They had named him Rex and made him an outside only dog. Sandy is delighted to have Trouble back. She says he has lost some weight but otherwise seems okay.

Blueberry has been found. Blueberry was missing five days and returned through an ad in the Washington Post and/or Gaithersburg Gazette.

COUGAR the cat was recovered from the animal shelter last month. The owner says that apparently someone kept him a couple of months before turning him in, probably someone in her neighborhood.

TWYLA was found in one day. Owners had posted signs. A"farmer" saw the ad at the grocery store and when he went home, there was the dog. He went back to the store to get the number and called them. Twyla was five miles from home. (Long legs, those wolfhounds)

WETLEY the dachshund was recovered by the sheriff after four days because of a call made by a "young child" to the tipline. The sheriff is investigating a suspect. This owner does doxie rescue but Wetley was her own dog. Another of her dogs was injured during the robbery but has recovered.

ELSEA was found after two weeks when she returned on her own to the area from which she was lost. This area, incidentally, was 30 miles from her home in Catonsville. The owner believes that someone had her during that time as she seemed healthy and well fed.

"Happy Endings" about Gixer the cat... When he was returned to his owners, a few weeks later while I was in Florida for a conference; I received an email from Gixer's owners as they had offered me to adopt him because they knew he was well cared for while I was searching for his owners. Upon my arrival from Florida, I brought him to a lovely quiet home. Now he enjoys staring at his handsome self in the mirror, drinking from the bathroom faucet, sleeps on my head at night and wakes me up at 7:00 AM for food! - Elisha

Oscar has been found!

Sandy has been found!..He was in the PG Shelter ....Thanks for everything Moraima

Oscar has been found!

Oscar the 14year-old Schnauzer left his yard on Nov. 7 when the wind blew the gate open. He was found by someone who thought he was a Scottie and turned him over to a Scottie rescue organization in Ellicot City. The rescue organization ran an ad in a Montgomery County newspaper but then turned Oscar over to a Schnauzer rescue organization in Laurel. Just by chance, the owner's sister-in-law happened to pick up a copy of the MC paper and saw the ad which said the dog had been found in Mt. Airy on 11/7. The owner called the number which was the Scottie group and they put him in touch with the Schnauzer group. It was the yellow bandana that the groomer had put on Oscar that helped > the owner claim him! Oscar was missing for 7 days and the owner says the gate will not blow open again unless the whole fence goes down.

Lucy has been found!
She has been gone for six months and just came home;
the family heard her outside in the garbage can! Hooray!

Susan just called to let us know that she found Uma!! The little goofball had broken her leg and the vet said that she probably just holed up somewhere until her leg healed enough that she could walk on it and then one of the humane traps they had set out got her with the food.

Blooper Happy Ending Blooper is Home

Great news! After being gone for nearly four weeks, BLOOPER IS HOME!!! :
I received a call this past Sunday morning and a lady asked me if I was missing a cat. She said she had seen his pictures on your website and was convinced it was the same cat. She lived less than a mile from us, so that seemed promising. As soon as we got out of the truck and saw the little orange furball in her garage, my husband and I both said at the same time, "THAT'S HIM!"

His guardian angel, Valerie Pyle, had been taking care of him for nearly two weeks and had purchased food bowls, food, bedding, a brush, toys, bath wipes, etc. She could not take him inside their home due to a family member with allergies, but he was living the good life in their garage!! He looked great! We're not sure where he was for the first two weeks he was missing, but we know how lucky he was to have run into Valerie and we can't thank her enough. Valerie was so great. She was so happy to have found "Doodlebug's" (what she was calling Blooper) family, yet so sad to see him leave. She gave us all the supplies she had purchased for him and flat out refused our reward. She said that she was Catholic and had been saying prayers to St. Francis every night for Blooper.

Thank-you so much for all your help posting Blooper's description and pictures on the lost page and for your kind and warm words of encouragement while he was gone. We are so glad to have him back! I hope that all of the other missing fur babies find their way home to the people who love and miss them. Sincerely, Jill

FYI, we have found our 2 golden retrievers. Someone called the vet where we take Angel and the vet called us to give us the information of the lady who had them. She said they came into her back yard where she keeps her dogs and she fed them and took care of them for the day, but they have been missing for 2 days so where they were before were not sure. But I want to thank you so much for you help and time. I knew as soon as we took these extra steps they would come up, actually I believe my prayer did it. So thank you and God bless.

To everyone at the humane society, I thank you for the return of my dog Zebby. Since he has been home he has not been out of my sight, or of my heels. He is back to being his same old self. The other dogs gave him a warm welcome home, they all kissed and washed him all over. You could say he was deeply missed by the hole house hold. (5 people 3 companions 1 ferret )
The family in Libertytown has decided to keep the big gray cat that they listed in the Found section. They love him. They got him his rabies shot at the last clinic and are taking him to the vet for a check-up. They have bonded! His new name is Hunter!

"While this cat was in my care, I called him Moses. He was very ill and I took him to the vet twice. He seemed to be doing okay then, but I could tell he was depressed - he missed his family! Yesterday morning, I saw a poster of "Lost Cat" with a picture of this gray/brown tabby posted on mailboxes near Fairfield Drive. I was thrilled and contacted the owners. His real name is Gixer. I returned him to his owners and he settled right in, quickly reunited with the young married couple who also have two beautiful big dogs and a black cat. I miss him already but I will adopt a cat to fill that hole in my heart soon! Thanks for your help!"- From Elisha, who found "Gixer" and posted his information on our webpage.

Sammy the Cat has come home!

Sammy is home! Hi, I just wanted to report that my cat, Sammy, is no longer missing!! He had been gone for about a month!! He came home late Friday night. I was getting out of my car and he ran over to me!! As, I was walking up the steps, I saw another cat that ran off...so, I am assuming he had been "hanging out" with this cat. I took him to the vet and he seems fine. He may have lost 1 -2 lbs. but he still weighed in at 14lbs. So, he is doing good. Thanks so much for posting the picture earlier and the information.

Emma has been found! Our family has had a very happy ending, as Emma was found in late July by a wonderful woman in Charles Town who took care of her until she saw the ad I'd placed in The Martinsburg Journal. Emma is now back home, much to her family's joy and relief. Many thanks to everyone who helped look for her -- and especially to Ms. Judith Adams of Orleans, Virginia, who cared for Emma until she could be returned to us.
Louie has been found! The family filed a Lost Report with Animal Control; someone found Louie, called in to Animal Control, and dog and family were happily reunited. Louie's human dad says he is building a real fence for the dog, who ran through their electric fence.

Opel The Cat Happy Ending

Opel the Cat: By owner Kathy R: "I found Opel near our shed, which had been checked multiple time previously. We had followed advice from the animal shelter, calling near dusk etc. Opel had been sighted a couple of acres downhill from home on Sunday. Our neighbor, Liz Disimone, has worked with animal protection for many years, and gave us a great deal of help looking for Opel, identifying good kitty hiding places, letting us know that Opel would behave differently while outdoors, and giving suggestions on how to place scent markings around the yard to help her identify her home places. On Liz's advice, I set out a dish of her dry food near the door she is most familiar with, and placed pieces of her favorite sleeping towel as scent markings around the perimeter of the yard. We also kept the outside lights on, and called frequently, ringing the bell we use to signal 'special treats'. While re-checking near the shed, and calling, I thought I heard the sound of Opel's collar in the yard behind ours. After additional calling, I heard very very tiny meows coming from under the shed. Opel came to my calls, and after lots of hugs and dinner is happily napping with her littermate sister."

Romi the German Shepherd: Romi was among the first pets to be featured on our new Lost and Found Pets site. She and her owners Lori and Shawn live in Montgomery County, with their dogs Romi and Rex. On a recent Saturday evening, they were visiting Frederick and had stopped along the Golden Mile to get a bite to eat, leaving Romi in the car. When they came out of the restaurant, Romi, an eight-month-old black and tan German Sheperd, had escaped, perhaps in search of some dinner for herself! Sunday morning, Shawn came into Animal Control to file a Lost Pet report and met up with folks from our organization who were there for our Rabies/Microchip Clinic. We took a copy of Romi’s information and added it to our new site. Every day and every night, Shawn and Lori drove up to look for Romi and diligently checked with Animal Control and our offices to see if anyone had found her. Several people reported spotting her but she’d run off before anyone could get close enough to catch her. On Thursday evening, Shawn was in Frederick again, looking around the Grove Hill area when he spotted some ears that looked like Romi’s. Gently he called her name and she slowly came over to him. As he continued to talk to her in a low, reassuring voice, she laid down at his feet. He was so thrilled to bring her home! She was skinny and dehydrated but very happy to be home, reunited with her brother Rex. Her first night back, she couldn’t wait to get into her crate, which she regards as her private den, for a good night’s sleep. A Happy Ending indeed!
