What
is the KINDness Club?
A cool club for kids from
ages 6-12, the KINDness club helps kids learn about animals while they have fun.
Each month, KINDness Club kids visit wildlife preserves, horse farms or other
animal havens or hear animal experts talk about everything from iguanas to rabbits.
Kids in the club also make educational displays and help out with events.
What
does KINDness stand for?
KIND stands for Kids In
Nature's Defense, and is a program of the National Association of Humane and Environmental
Education (NAHEE), the youth education division of the Humane Society of the United
States (HSUS). Although our names are similar, the Frederick County Humane Society
is an independent not-for-profit organization. We receive no government funding,
nor do we have a "parent" organization.
When
does the club meet?
The KINDness club meets the
third Saturday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Please note that meeting
events and time are subject to change. Members will be provided with details prior
to each meeting via email. You can also contact the FCHS office at (301) 694-8300
to confirm meeting events and times. View the Kindness
Club Page or the Kindness Club Newsletter to
learn more.
